Gushing over L.A.’s new Civic Park

A milestone in the construction of Los Angeles’ new Civic Park was recently reached with the first testing of the historic Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain, which has been stunningly restored and re-imagined. Its concrete and granite “bowl” has been preserved and a dramatic “membrane pool” with 79 interactive jets has been added, along with dazzling lighting. Here’s a first look at the project, a key facet of the four-block downtown park, scheduled to open in late summer or early fall.

Raymond worked with joint venture partner Outside the Lines, Inc. to restore the historic Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain at the center of Los Angeles’s Grand Park. The fountain was part of a 56 million dollar transformation of the county’s 12-acre Civic Center and was unveiled at a Civic Dedication of the new Grand Park on July 26, 2012.
