Employee Spotlight

Posted March 26, 2026

At Raymond, we have outstanding employees, so we decided to feature some of them on our blog. Jon Sathre is the Technology Infrastructure Manager at Raymond, celebrating 20 years with the company this year. He oversees the on-premises and cloud systems that support how employees create, collaborate, and connect with colleagues and vendors, in addition to providing day-to-day technology support.

What does Raymond’s 90th anniversary mean to you?

Whenever someone asks about my employer and I mention Raymond has been around since 1936, the reaction is always ‘amazement’. Not many companies can say that — and I’m proud to be a part of it.

What’s something people might not realize about what you do?

Working in technology support means we interact with nearly everyone in the company over time. Getting exposure to so many different personalities keeps the workday fresh and interesting.

What makes you proud to work here?

Raymond has a family business style that genuinely cares about its people, and the number of employees who stay here for much of their career proves it. That’s rare, especially for a company of this size.

What’s something people might not know about you?

During and after college, I worked for the University of Minnesota operating heavy equipment — skid loaders, dump trucks, bulldozers, articulating loaders, and farm tractors. As a young guy it was fun, but surprisingly stressful on the body.

First memory at Raymond:

One of my first projects was helping convert part of the warehouse into an on-premises data center, complete with enterprise servers, battery backup, a diesel generator, climate control, and fire suppression. Before that, file servers were running out of the IT office itself. Taking the company’s entire technology foundation up a notch was a memorable way to start!

Best part of your workday:

8 AM, when everyone in I.T. is in the office. That’s when the fun starts.
