Promoting career awareness of the construction industry among high school students!
Raymond sponsored Norte Vista High School in the recent Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) Design Build Competition located at Golden West College. This year’s competition showcased 31 Southern California teams challenged with constructing a 96 square-foot structure over a two-day period.
Prior to construction, and over a four-month period, each team completed the challenge of designing and preparing construction documents for the structure, which were submitted for plan review by volunteer community plan-checkers and architectural professionals.
On the final day of building, structures were judged by industry professionals on the completion of design, construction, code compliance, and safety.

The mission of CIEF is to empower students to pursue careers in the building environment. CIEF develops construction, design, and trade professionals through educational endeavors, mentoring initiatives, and training activities.
