PROJECT
STORY

Crystals Retail at City Center is a 500,000 square foot retail, dining, and entertainment venue. Raymond was brought on the project to assist the design team with budgeting, means of construction ideas, and shop drawings, as well as to construct the project. The Crystals Retail project is built of structural steel consisting of leaning columns, curving trusses, and straight members that don’t line up with any other piece of steel. Due to the complexity of the design, BIM and 3D rendering and coordination were required on a daily basis to establish layout points in space to enable the layout of the walls and ceilings.

The project had an 18 month field schedule, which meant that work needed to progress on the floor and ceiling concurrently. This led to the need for an extensive structural dance floor that spanned the features below to enable completing the ceilings that were up to 120 feet above. The large curved and angled drywall surfaces coupled with the light from numerous skylights required a very high level of finish.
