PROJECT
STORY

Cornish College of the Art’s Residence Hall in downtown Seattle is a 157,000+ square foot, 20-story multi-use, student housing facility. Residence areas of the building occupy 16 floors and include 224 student rooms and 4 staff apartments. Other features throughout include Student Life offices and administration space, student living rooms and lounges, a fitness center, media room, gaming area, community kitchen, and music practice rooms.

Raymond completed the metal framing and unitized aluminum exterior rain screen system. The rainscreen design on the building was unique, featuring 3/16” thick architectural aluminum cladding on cold-form framing. The innovative building design boasts thermal performance 40% better than required by current Seattle Building Code.

The Cornish College of the Arts Residence Hall was awarded the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce (DJC) 2015 Building of the Year award.
