STORY

The Soka Performing Arts Center is a four-story academic building attached to a full performing arts center. The exterior of the building consisted of CMU block and concrete with lath and plaster applied and the interior included metal stud framing, drywall and veneer plaster. The Academic Building was designed to blend in seamlessly to the entire Soka University campus culture, while the Theater Building was designed to stand out. The Soka Performing Arts Center is LEED Gold certified (10% recycled content gypsum board, glass sunshade of the exterior glass wall panel system, and photovoltaic cells on the theater roof).
